David Griffen has relocated to Newcastle Australia from Cornwall UK, where he ran a successful kitchen studio just around the corner from the fishing village of Padstow where Rick Stein set up his very first restaurant.
Still going strong, The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow remains the flag ship restaurant of the Rick Stein brand, offering incredible seafood simply prepared – the hallmark of a Rick Stein kitchen.
When David returned to Australia in November 2018 to embark on a 12 month road trip with his young family, one of the first stops was just south of Sydney – in the beautiful seaside town of Molymoook – to shoot for Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant at Bannisters.
More recently, David shot Mitchell Turners cooking for the launch of the Rick Stein brand in Port Stephens. Mitch and his team use the finest locally sourced ingredients and freshly caught and beautifully prepared seafood to create some of the finest seafood dishes in Australia.
Mitch starting out cooking in his family kitchen, and achieved his first Head Chef position at just 21-years-old. Now Head Chef of Bannisters Port Stephens, Mitch is thrilled be creating an exciting new dining destination on the north coast.
