We decided to go to Bundeena National Park for our first stop as it was a short distance from our base in Leichhardt Sydney, just in case we needed to head back to base for a re-think. After saying our goodbyes to friends and family we towed the van through the Inner West then out through Newtown and along the Princess Highway. It was brilliant to be off. The first caravan challenge came at the entrance to the park – it was very tight, but after a couple of slow adjustments we got through unscratched. The site was incredible – unpowered but and right on the shore with a view across the water. Reversing in to place was straight forwards, just followed the steps we learnt on the Tow-Ed course and we were in – bit of a relief as we had an audience of three other families watching closely. We cooked on the electric bbqs, walked through the mangrove flats, and flew kites and took a couple of days to just relax and catch up on some sleep.
